Rain…we are familiar with all kinds of rain…but not so Noah or anyone else living at that time in history.  From Scriptures it seems that no person or living thing had experienced rain in any form.  If this is true, how was the earth watered?

(NASB) Genesis 2:6 “But a mist used to rise from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground.”

God’s warning of coming judgment by a flood.
(NASB) Hebrews 11:7 “By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen…”
Noah was told it would rain and a flood would cover the whole earth.  Noah responded by faith – he believed God, even though he had never experienced a flood.

God’s man Noah.
(NASB) Hebrews 11:7 “…in reverence prepared an ark…”
Did you notice, Noah prepared an ark in reverence!

Our work is to be done with reverence in obedience to God’s word.

God’s plan for Noah’s salvation.
(NASB) Hebrews 11:7 “…for the salvation of his household…”

Noah’s faith expressed itself in his actions by following God’s detailed plans to build the ark.  The ark would save Noah and his wife, his three sons and their wives.
Genesis 6:14-21

Noah’s obedient faith to God’s words…was not blind faith…but faith based on the fact that God’s words are truth.
(NIV) Genesis 6:22 “Noah did everything just as God commanded him.”

Noah’s actions of faith relied on the truth of God’s word to him…not on circumstances or fears or people.
(NASB) Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Your faith is important to God.  Your faith is important to others.  Noah’s faith in God caused him to obey God’s words.  His action of faith saved him and his entire family from God’s judgment by the flood.  By faith ~ Noah prepared an ark.

Take it to heart ~

Faith in the living God will result in actions of faith – from the rising of the sun to its setting…our faith is to be lived out because we believe God.  Like Noah, what action of faith do you need to take today?
