Adam and Eve’s first two children were sons.  Cain was the oldest and Abel was his younger brother.
(Genesis 4:1-2)

As grown men, both offered the Lord an offering.  Cain’s offering was fruit of the ground – he was a farmer.  Abel’s offering was the first and fattest offspring of his flock…he was a shepherd.
(Genesis 4:3-4)

The Lord had regard for Abel’s offering…why?  He brought the first of his flock and the fattest as a sacrificial offering.

When you bring the Lord the best part of the day, and your income, and your time in doing God’s will…that is offering God the best that you have…not reserving it for yourself, or even as an inheritance for others.

God was pleased with the better sacrifice Abel offered.  Abel is known as a righteous man because he pleased God.  And God testifies to Abel’s offering.  (Hebrews 11:4)

Abel died by the hand of his brother (the first murder).
(Genesis 4:8)

Abel’s faith was in God, he gave Him his very best and that sacrificial offering is still speaking today of his faith, thousands of years later.  What an epitaph!  (Hebrews 11:4)

What are you offering the living God of the Bible day in and day out?  Week by week, month after month and year after year?

How is God testifying to your offering to Him?  Are you giving Him the first and fattest portions when you give Him your offering?

Do you need to change something?  If so, what?

(NASB) Hebrews 11:4 “By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous.  God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks.”

By Faith ~ Abel gave the better offering

Is your offering by faith
and is it the better sacrificial offering?
