God’s Plea to “partakers of Christ.”

(NASB) Hebrews 3:15 “…‘Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts, as when they provoked Me.”

[Moses was called by God to lead the people of Israel out of slavery into His Promised Land.  The Israelites rebelled against God after they were led out of slavery in Egypt…they hardened their hearts and provoked Him.]  God had good reason to be provoked with them…they rejected Him.

“Listen” to the following questions…and the answers.
Question #1
(NASB) Hebrews 3:16 “For who provoked Him when they had heard?
Answer #1
(NASB) Hebrews 3:16 “Indeed, did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses?”

A whole generation provoked the living God.  Today, are people provoking God, even when He speaks through His word, the Holy Bible?

Question #2
(NASB) Hebrews 3:17 “And with whom was He angry for forty years?”
Answer #2
(NASB) Hebrews 3:17 “Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?”

A whole generation died in the wilderness.  They traveled in the wilderness for forty years because they refused to enter the Promised Land.  They rejected God’s leadership when fear kept them from doing God’s will.

Question #3
(NASB) Hebrews 3:18 “And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest…?
Answer #3
(NASB) Hebrews 3:18 “…but to those who were disobedient?”

God judged those men and women for their disobedience to Him and His words.  They were not allowed to enter the Promised Land…

God is the living God Who loves you.  He gives us time to turn to Him.  You must be obedient to His words by trusting Him, believing Him and yielding to Him.  You must respond to His voice.

Rejecting God will result in His judgment.  Listen and respond to God’s plea to you.
