(NIV) Hebrews 3:1 “THEREFORE, HOLY brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus…”

The word “holy brothers” in this sense is “consecrated and set apart for God.”

Who are the holy brothers and sisters?  We are.  Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ; we are united in belief and faith in Jesus as our Savior.

What makes us a family of believers?  After all we are of different nationalities, languages, skin color, and even political beliefs.

Jesus Christ makes His followers holy (consecrated and set apart for God).  We are sanctified by Jesus and we have one Father…God the Father.  For this reason Jesus is not ashamed to call us brothers and sisters.  Amazing isn’t it?

You, who read this devotional, come from many countries.  From December 13, 2014 to December 13, 2015, 121 countries/regions have read this devotional.  And for those who know Christ as their Savior, we are brothers and sisters!

What unity of belief do we have as followers of Christ?
(NASB) Hebrews 10:19 “Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,
21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

We are united by faith in what Jesus has done, and continues to do, for us – we are brothers and sisters!

God is faithful to warn us, because He loves us.
(NASB) Hebrews 3:12 “Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God.”

We are to confess and turn from our petty grievances toward others.  Our political beliefs should not take first place in our lives – only God’s word is to be first.

What does God call us to do?  Listen!  Listen to Him!
(Amplified Bible) Hebrews 13:22 “I call on you, brethren, to listen patiently…”

“…holy brothers…” we are united in Christ, by faith in Him and through faith in Him as our Savior and Lord.  He has redeemed us and called us to be His brothers and sisters.

(Amplified Bible) Hebrews 3:1 “SO THEN, brethren, consecrated and set apart for God…”

Jesus called and included all of His followers as His brothers and sisters…are you one?
