A proverb is a short pointed saying.  Most of the time it is giving a choice of two very different paths.

(NASB) Proverbs 10:12 “Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all transgressions.”

There are many “Y’s” in life.  We choose constantly the paths we follow.  What controls your thoughts and actions?

Using the above proverb, criticisms often times causes strife.  Criticism given without love is perceived as hatred.  The proverb states: ‘Hatred stirs up strife.”

What does this same proverb say about love?  “Love covers all transgressions.”
What?  Surely not!  All transgressions?  God’s love for you covers all your transgressions.  Followers of Christ, we are to do just that, follow Christ!  And love others.

Consider what the Lord Jesus has done for you…
(NASB) Hebrews 12:2-3 “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Since Christ has covered all of your transgressions, followers of Christ…we also are to forgive and move forward in our relationships with others…real love does just that!
Your choice: to stir up hatred or choosing to love.

The “Y” in your day will cause you to choose which course you will take in your relationship with others.
With the above proverb you have a decision: hatred or love.

As you come to those “Y’s” in this day, your choice will affect you and others.
