As a review of Paul’s circumstances:
Paul was standing on the steps of the barracks in Jerusalem, speaking to the mob which had tried to kill him moments before.
After permission was granted by the commander of the Roman forces, Paul told the mob about his life before he knew Christ Jesus.

(NASB) Acts 22:6-11 “But it happened that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me,
7 and I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
8 ‘And I answered, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.’
9 ‘And those who were with me saw the light, to be sure, but did not understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me.
10 ‘And I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ And the Lord said to me, ‘Get up and go on into Damascus, and there you will be told all that has been appointed for you to do.’
11 ‘But since I could not see because of the brightness of that light, I was led by the hand by those who were with me and came into Damascus.”

How have you had an encounter with Jesus Christ?
For some – dramatic and instantly changing direction in thought and life – to follow and serve the risen Savior, Jesus.
For others – a step by step process from unbelief to belief in the living Lord Jesus Christ.
And for others – a seeking, searching for relief from sins committed…and finding Jesus ready to forgive those sins and accept them into the kingdom of God.

However we come to belief in Jesus, it is life-changing.  New thought patterns are developed as we study God’s word.

May the Lord give you the intense desire to follow Him and be open to changing old habits, old thought processes and old responses to life.

(NIV) Romans 12:1-2 “THEREFORE, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.  2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and prefect will.”
