Paul left Athens where he had spoken to many about Jesus and His resurrection.  Many sneered, others wanted to hear “something new” and some placed their faith in the Lord Jesus.  (Acts 17:21, 32-34)

Paul then went to Corinth.  (Acts 18:1)
(NASB) Acts 18:2 “And he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, having recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome…”

Today there are followers of Christ who have been forced from their homes, their villages and cities, because of their faith in the Lord Jesus as their Savior.  Religious persecution is nothing new.

Wherever Paul went, he kept his focus on telling others, reasoning with them to choose to have faith in the resurrected Lord Jesus.  Tent making was a way to make a living…it was not the main focus of his life.  (Acts 18:3-4)

What is your goal, your focus in life?  For Paul it was to spread the Good News of Jesus, the risen Christ!

Paul set an example…he was not an idle man.  While he waited on Silas and Timothy to join him in Corinth, he made tents and he preached on the Sabbath in the synagogue.

(NASB) Acts 18:5 “But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.”
[The Greek word used for Messiah – Christ.]

Where is your focus, how do you use your time?  Is it to prepare to teach others of Jesus Christ?  Perhaps you think, I am not a teacher!  But you are a follower of Christ, is that correct?  Then you need to focus on God’s word so you can tell others of your Savior.

You are probably not a tentmaker or a preacher like Paul.  However, your faith in Jesus is to be shared with others, no matter where you live or what you do to make a living.

Is the following true of you?
(Your name): is a follower of Christ; is a witness of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
