Paul stood in the middle of the Areopagus in Athens.  He told them what he had observed as he walked about Athens.  He saw how religious the Athenians were because they had many idols throughout the city.  He saw an altar dedicated “TO AN UNKNOWN GOD”.  Then Paul began his message with that altar.  “Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.”  (Acts 17:22-23)

Do you know this God Whom Paul described?  God is kind, He loves and He is:
God the Creator – He is not served by humans as if He needed anything (Acts 17:24-25)
God the Giver of life – He gives all people life and breath (Acts 17:25)
God established all nations – He determined appointed times and boundaries (Acts 17:26)
God is findable – He is available to all who seek Him                 (Acts 17:27)
God brought all people into existence (Acts 17:28)
God’s divine nature – is not like idols made by human hands or thoughts (Acts 17:29)
God declares all people should repent – no one is left out (Acts 17:30)
God has fixed the day the world will be judged in righteousness – through His Son, the Judge of all the earth (Acts 17:31)
God has appointed One Man – Jesus Christ to judge          (Acts 17:31)
God has given proof to all people – Jesus was raised from the dead (Acts 17:31)

The people of Athens heard of the living God through the preaching of Paul.  Do you know the living God better because of Paul’s preaching and his description of our God?
