Important work…of strengthening others.
Important work…of enduring your circumstances.
Important work…of building up others in their faith.

Who were the three men traveling together, passing through cities, visiting the existing churches and delivering the news from Jerusalem?  Paul, Silas and Timothy.
Included with the letter was the fact that Gentiles did not need to be circumcised.  They could be church members as followers of Christ without being circumcised as a Jew.  (Acts 16:4)

These three men were doing important work as they visited various cities and the local churches.

Today, it is just as important to do the same work…to strengthen existing churches and build up the faith of the congregations…no matter their numbers.

Some reading this devotional face the threat of death because of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Others face ostracism and anger of family members and neighbors, while others face the uncaring, skeptical, derisive and mocking attitudes of co-workers and family.

Wherever you live, whatever you are facing today…be prepared to do the important work of strengthening believers around you.

(NASB) Hebrews 12:1-3 “THEREFORE, SINCE we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

It is important work to strengthen believer’s in their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is important work to endure in your circumstances.
It is important work to build others up in their faith.
This is the important work for each believer to be doing in this world today.

The Lord God will increase the number of those who will receive Christ Jesus as their Savior…you and I are to be faithful in giving out the truth of the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Important work that lasts into eternity!
