The bottom line for the followers of Christ: It is faith in the Lord Jesus as Savior and Lord.  It is the Lord God’s strength we need, our own is never enough.
(NASB) Nehemiah 8:10 “…‘Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord.  Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.’”

Eat of God’s word, drink from His wells of salvation, which rise up as a fountain to eternal life.  Give out to others what the Lord gives you to eat and drink…don’t keep it for yourself…share!
Do not grieve…when we eat and drink of the Lord and His words we have that joy that is like a beautiful fountain springing upward.  That joy is your strength because it comes from the living God of the Holy Bible.

What is the bottom line?
(NASB) Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.”
Your strength will never be enough…no matter your position, power, possessions or will.

What are we to do as followers of Christ?
(NASB) Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.”

God’s full armor is our protection.  It is His armor prepared for us who have trusted (leaned our full weight on Christ Jesus) by faith in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.
Why do we need God’s armor?  So we can stand…so     we      can          stand…against the schemes of the devil.
The devil is real.  He is the deceiver, a murderer and the father of lies.  Jesus said so. (John 8:44)

Who are we struggling against?
(NASB) Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood (physical opponents), but against the rulers, against the powers (authorities), against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Do you and I have the strength against such power in opposition to the living God?  No we don’t.  Only through faith in Jesus can anyone stand and stand firm against such power.  And wonder of wonders, our God has given us what we need to stand!  His armor!

The bottom line…
(NASB) Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.”

Tomorrow’s devotional will give the armor of God we are to put on daily so we can stand!
