How do you sincerely seek God?  There are really only several ways…prayer and reading/studying His word, the Holy Bible.  Followers of Christ are a good resource also.

An Ethiopian eunuch was in a chariot leaving Jerusalem on a desert road to Gaza.
(Acts 8:27-30)
This important man was sincerely seeking God and to understand what Isaiah the prophet had written.  When Philip asked a simple question, “Do you understand what you are reading?” (Acts 8:30)
The Ethiopian eunuch asked Philip to sit with him in the chariot.

What had the man been reading?

(NIV) Acts 8:32-33 “…
He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,
and as a lamb before the shearer is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
33In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.
Who can speak of his descendants?
For his life was taken from the earth.’”

The eunuch asked Philip an insightful question: “Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this?  Of himself or of someone else?”  (Acts 8:34 NASB)

  And how did Philip respond?
(NASB) Acts 8:35 “Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.”

The Scripture is all about the Lord Jesus Christ…He was the sacrificial Lamb of God Who did not try to defend Himself to His accusers or the Roman governor Pilot before His crucifixion.  (Matthew 27:12-14)

Philip told the eunuch about the Lord Jesus Christ and how to receive Jesus into his life.  He also told the man from Ethiopia that baptism is a witness to others of Jesus taking away his sins and giving him eternal life in the presence of the living God.
The eunuch wasn’t looking for a “quick fix” or “fluff” or something to “tickle his ears”.  He wasn’t looking for an emotional “high”.  He was looking for God and His truth.

Today, many are looking for a way into heaven that depends on themselves, something that they do.  When the only way into heaven is belief in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God Who died for their sins…died for them!
How do you respond to the truths of God?  Do you listen; then go your own way?  Perhaps you ignore, reject, and/or refuse to believe that you need Jesus.
The only way to be “saved” is to agree with God and ask Jesus to be your Savior.

Sincerely seeking God is to study the Scriptures and believe what God has to say about His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  (John 3:16-18)
