Peter and John were on the way to pray and a beggar asks them for money.
What was Peter’s response?
(NASB) Acts 3:6 “But Peter said, ‘I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene – walk!’”

What did Peter have?  He had been given God the Holy Spirit and he had been given God’s authority and power to heal people.

What God gave Peter was to give to others – to meet their needs.
What has God given you to meet the needs of others?  Perhaps it is the gift of “helps”.  You can be an encourager, a strong support, not wanting the ‘limelight’ but staying in the background is where you are content…and you are needed to meet the needs of others right there, in that position.
Perhaps the Lord God has given you time to do God’s work in various capacities.

Always, God’s people are to be praying for God’s people and praying for Him to call those without Christ in their life to Himself.
Always, God’s people are to be giving out God’s words through our words and actions.
Always, God’s people are to be dependent on God to do what He calls us to do – for His glory.

Peter did not give that lame man healing by his own authority or power…Peter did not have that kind of power in him.  God gave Peter the power to heal by God’s authority and God’s power.  Nothing more or nothing less.

You also, if you are a follower of Christ, have the authority and power to do what God has called you to do.

What has God given you to do?
