Peter and John on their way into the temple to pray and a beggar did what beggar’s do, he asked for money.  He was lame, had been from birth…he had no other way to earn the necessities of life.

(NASB) Acts 3:3-6 “When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking to receive alms.
4 But Peter, along with John, fixed his gaze on him and said, ‘Look at us!’
5 And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.”
6But Peter said, ‘I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene – walk!”

What did Peter have to give that man?  Not money – he didn’t have any.  Not a pat on the shoulder and ‘God bless you’.
What Peter did have, he gave.  Peter’s assurance and authority was in the name of Jesus Christ, in the power of God the Holy Spirit by the will of God the Father.

What has God called you to do – today?  Do that!

Has He called you to get a few friends together?  Do that!

Has He called you to invite others to worship this coming Sunday at your Bible-believing church?  Do that!

Has He called you to take down prayer requests in your Sunday School class and e-mail them out to the class members?  Do that!

Has He called you to organize get-togethers for your small group in a church setting?  Do that!

Has He called you to teach His word?  Do that!

Has He called you to drive a bus to pick up people who have no transportation to church?  Do that!

Has He called you to usher or to stand in the parking lot and smile and wave to those coming to church?  Do that!

Has He called you to become a Pastor for the sheep in His pasture?  Do that!

When God has “called” anyone to a specific work – we are given the ability, the authority in the name of Jesus Christ, with power of God the Holy Spirit by the will of God the Father.

Doing God’s work, God’s way…do that!
