Peter’s sermon on the Day of Pentecost continues in this devotional.
Peter was using King David and his prophecies concerning Messiah.
(NASB) Acts 2:34-35 “For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says:
THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD,
SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
35 UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET.’”

What are some of the things which we can learn about Messiah from these verses?
*The LORD God said to David’s Lord (Jesus Christ), sit at My right hand.
*The LORD God said to the Lord Jesus Christ, share my throne until I make Your enemies a footstool on which You will rest your feet.  Messiah will have complete domination over His enemies.
*The LORD God will give victory over the enemies of Jesus.  Those enemies will be in complete subjection to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Followers of Christ, we have a victorious, risen Lord Who will have absolute power and domination over His enemies.  We can know for certain because God’s word says so!

  Peter then said:
(NASB) Acts 2:36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ – this Jesus whom you crucified.”

Peter never minced his words – he spoke to those men of the risen, resurrected Lord Jesus Christ – the very One Who had been crucified, the One they had crucified.
The very One Whom God made both Master (Lord) and Messiah (Christ).

If you had been in that crowd and had been guilty of those charges…how would you have responded?
Actually, you and I are guilty of those very charges.  Our sins were taken on by Jesus as if they were His sins.  Our sins (yours and mine), our actions, thoughts, words, attitudes and motives we have hidden away in the depths of our inner most being…those sins were the reason Jesus died on the cross!

How do you respond?
