(NASB) Acts 1:10-11 “And as they (the apostles) were gazing intently into the sky while He (Jesus) was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.
11 They also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky?  This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

The eleven apostles were not startled or had any fear of the two men clothed in white who were standing beside them.  Scripture does not say if they were suddenly just there standing with them…but it would seem so.
These men were not given a chance to grieve about Jesus’ going home to His Father in heaven.  They were given a promise…“This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

Has Jesus returned to this earth yet?  No, He has not.
When will He return?  Jesus answered that question just before He ascended into heaven.
(NASB) Acts 1:7 “…It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority.”

What is the expectation of the followers of Christ concerning the rapture (the time all followers of Christ will be taken into heaven)?
(NASB) 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.
18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.”

The followers of Christ have the promise that He is coming for us.
All who have believed in Jesus as their Savior are assured of being in the presence of God through their faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus said,
(NASB) John 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

Are you one of those who will receive the Promise of Christ’s Return for His Own?
