(NASB) Luke 24:50-53 “And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.
51 While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
52 And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
53 and were continually in the temple praising God.”

What was the last action of Jesus before going “home” to His Father?
He led them out to Bethany (on the Mount of Olives Acts 1:12).
He raised His hands and blessed His followers.
Then He was “taken up into heaven” (NIV).

What were the first actions of those disciples?
Worship, they worshiped their risen and ascended Savior, Jesus Christ.
They returned to Jerusalem ~ with great joy!
They were continually in the temple ~ praising God!

How do you greet each new day?
Some get up with dread of the drudgery awaiting them…
Some begin their day by their usual morning routine…
Some begin it with God and His word…
Some begin with praise to their Creator, Savior, Redeemer…

Which category do you “fit into”?  Or is there another category for you?

When you and I begin our day – what keeps us from starting it with the Lord our God?
Only you and I can answer that question.  No one else can for us.

Followers of Christ, we have a risen, ascended Savior, Redeemer – praise God!

Jesus continues to bless His people ~ does He promise health, wealth, happiness?  No, I don’t believe so.  However, He has promised Himself to be with His people (those who follow Him by believing in Him) in our circumstances.  (Matthew 28:20)

Jesus ~ is the risen, ascended Savior and coming King!
  Rejoice and praise our God!
