Jesus, the resurrected Jesus, met two men walking to Emmaus from Jerusalem.
Jesus, the resurrected Jesus, listened to the grief of those two men who had lost all hope when Jesus was crucified.
Jesus, the resurrected Jesus, pinpointed their slowness of heart to believe all that had been foretold by the prophets (in the Old Testament), the Torah and the Scriptural history of Israel.  All have prophesied the first time Messiah was to come.  The Old Testament and the New Testament foretells the second time Messiah will come – as King over all the earth.

  Are you reading your Bible?
Are you “listening” as you read; as you hear Scriptural sermons?
Is your heart also slow to believe God’s words?
God’s words are truth and they are eternal. (Psalm 119:160)

(NASB) Luke 24:25-27 “And He said to them, ‘O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
26 ‘Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?
27 Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.”

How does that last verse whet your appetite to know God’s word better?  Jesus began with Moses, what Moses wrote in the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy).
One example among many from each of these books:
Genesis 3:15 – immediately after the first sin – God promised Messiah to conquer Satan and also foretold His crucifixion (“bruise him on the heel”)
Exodus 12:1-13 – the Passover is a “picture” of Messiah’s sacrificial death and protection of all who believe in Him.
Leviticus – the various Feasts, the setting up of the temple furniture, the laws given, all point to Messiah.
Numbers – the various experiences of the Israelites as they traveled through the wilderness to the Promised Land, also point to Messiah.
Deuteronomy – Moses reviews the history of Israel – again pointing to Messiah.

All, all the prophets foretell of Christ Jesus (Messiah)
Messiah’s First Advent – all, all fulfilled!
Messiah’s Second Advent – will be fulfilled!  (Christ’s 2nd Advent is foretold in the Old and the New Testament.)

What about today?  What about your slowness of heart to believe?  The New Testament points to the coming King Jesus.  Are you reading your Bible?  Are you “listening” as you read and as you hear Scriptural sermons?
Is your heart also slow to believe God’s words as they tell of the Glorious Message of Messiah (Jesus)?  And do you say, “Amen.  Come, Lord Jesus!”  (Revelation 22:20)
