Two followers of Christ were walking to Emmaus the very day that Jesus had risen from the dead (and they didn’t know it for sure).
They were discussing all that had happened that very day.
That very day some women had discovered the empty tomb.  Strangely, the body of Jesus was missing, but the grave cloths were still there.
That very day those women had hurried back to the disciples and told what they had seen and reported what they had heard.  Two men in shining clothing had reminded them of Jesus’ words – He would be crucified and on the third day He would rise from the dead.
That very day, Peter and John had run to the tomb to check out the women’s story…and sure enough, the body of Jesus was not there and the grave cloths were.

The two followers were sad…they were grieving.  A loved one had died.  Their hope had died when Jesus did.  The reports of the women?  Hardly reliable…in fact most of the men thought it pure nonsense.
These two followers of Jesus were looking at the events and the circumstances and did not take into account the words of Jesus Himself!

Where do you choose to put your faith?  Are you so focused on the events, the circumstances which you are facing that you also are not taking into account the promises of God to you?
Are you choosing to put your faith in God and His words…this day?

Faith in God’s facts or faith in your emotions?
Faith in God’s promises or faith in your circumstances?
Faith in God’s words or faith in your self-will?
Where are you choosing to place your faith?

Faith in God’s facts:
(NASB) Psalm 119:151 “You are near, O Lord,
And all Your commandments are truth.”

Faith in God’s promises:
(NASB) Psalm 145:18 “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.”

Faith in God’s words:
(NASB) John 14:1-3 “DO NOT let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 ‘In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
3 ‘If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to My self, that where I am, there you may be also.”
