It was the first day of the week, Sunday.  Some women had gone to the tomb to put more spices on the body of Jesus.  Some astounding things had occurred before they got there.  The massive stone that had covered the entrance was rolled away.  No soldiers were guarding that tomb…and they had been there.  And most amazing of all, the body of Jesus – gone.  The linens covering the body?  Still in the tomb.
The women had been met by two men in bright shining garments and they had told the women that Jesus was risen!
The women went to where the disciples were and told them all they had seen and heard.  And the men?  “Nonsense.”  Those women were not believed.  (Luke 24:1-11)
Could those women possibly be right?  If so, wow!

(NASB) Luke 24:12 “But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings only; and he went away to his home, marveling at what had happened.”

“…marveling at what had happened…” Unbelievable? Yes!  Nonsense? Absolutely not!

Do you marvel at what happened on that long ago Passover?
(NASB) John 3:16For God so loved the world (that’s you and me), that He gave His only begotten Son (that’s Jesus on the altar of the cross), that whosoever believes in Him (that’s faith, personal faith in Jesus) shall not perish (that’s being saved from your sins and saved from God’s wrath by Jesus’ sacrifice in your place), but have eternal life (that’s eternal life in the presence of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit ~ forever and ever and ever).

You and I are to marvel at what happened on that long ago Passover – for us!

(NASB) 1 John 4:10 “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.”
(NASB) 1 John 4:19 “We love, because He first loved us.”

As you read this – think about yourself –

…marveling…at what Jesus did was – for me!

…marveling…at what God planned – for me!

                     …marveling…at God’s love – for me!
