The women who had gone to the tomb had seen the empty tomb.  They had heard that Jesus had risen from the dead, just as He had told them He would.
  The disciples had heard the women’s “tales,” had not believed them and called them “nonsense” (madness, feigned things).  (Luke 24:1-11)

  Peter and John decided to check out this “story” the women had told them.
(NASB) John 20:3-10 “So Peter and the other disciple (John) went forth, and they were going to the tomb.
4 The two were running together; and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter and came to the tomb first;
5 and stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings lying there; but he did not go in.
6 And so Simon Peter also came, following him, and entered the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings laying there,
7 and the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself.
8 So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed.
9 For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
10 So the disciples went away again to their own homes.”

  Now two disciples had visual evidence and one had believed because of the evidence.
  What has it taken for you to believe that Jesus is risen?  What has convinced you that Jesus is the only One Who can save anyone from their sins?
  Perhaps it has been through a friend or a relative or through the daily watching of another Christian living out their faith in the risen Savior, Jesus.

  Who are you telling through your words, your actions, your love for others about the wonderful Savior you serve and worship?

  The two disciples who ran to the tomb on that Sunday morning became key men in the spreading of the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Peter became a leader in the church and wrote the books of 1 & 2 Peter.  You can read about his amazing growth in faith in the book of Acts.  John also was an important part of the church.  He wrote the Gospel of John, three letters (1 & 2 & 3 John), and the book of Revelation.

  Followers of Christ, your witness will impact future generations for eternity.  Think about the incredible witness of those women who first saw the empty tomb.  The two men who had run to the tomb had visual evidence and they came to believe Jesus was alive.  Your witness is important…for you have been convinced of the reality of Jesus, the living Christ!
