Jesus – crucified by soldiers.

Jesus – mocked by soldiers and Jewish religious leaders.

Jesus – scorned by the on-lookers.

Jesus – prophecy fulfilled by those watching Him die.

(NASB) Luke 23:36-37 “The soldiers also mocked Him, coming up to Him, offering Him sour wine,
37 and saying, ‘If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!’”

(NASB) Psalm 22:11-13 “Be not far from me, for trouble is near;
For there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have surrounded me;
Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.
13 They open wide their mouth at me,
As a ravening and a roaring lion.”

  The soldiers had fulfilled prophecy when they nailed the hands and feet of Jesus.
(NASB) Psalm 22:16 “For dogs have surrounded me;
A band of evildoers has encompassed me;
They pierced my hands and my feet.”

  What causes the followers of Christ a stab of hurt when the Lord Jesus Christ is mocked and blasphemed today?
  People today are like those people who were watching Jesus die.
  Jesus Christ is mocked, scorned, blasphemed, ignored, denounced and rejected – today.

  At one time I did that same thing.  Then one day, a friend (one who loved the Lord Jesus as Savior) showed me that I didn’t know Jesus in that way.
  A friend of mine has a son (who loves the Lord Jesus), he gave his mother a book to read – and the living God used that book and her son’s love for her to open her eyes, her mind, her heart to following Jesus.

  What is your experience of following Jesus? — Are you?
  Why not put that experience on your Facebook page?  Your witness to being a follower of Christ – God can use it for His glory in another’s life.

  Whom do you need to pray to receive Christ Jesus as their Redeemer, Savior?

  Who do you need to invite to church to hear the message of Jesus?  The message of salvation from the pulpit?

  Do you know of others who mock and scorn the thought of who Jesus is?  Pray for them.
Invite them to know Him for themselves.

Loving other people is to introduce them to Jesus.
