Jesus was asked the following questions, which He did not answer at that time:
“Tell us by what authority You are doing these things, or who is the one who gave You this authority?”  (Luke 20:2)

From where was the right, the power, the authority of Jesus?
Jesus taught as One having authority.  Crowds He taught recognized the difference of His teaching from that of the scribes. (Matthew 7:28-29)
* True authoritative teaching can only come from the one who is truly authorized.

Jesus had the authority to forgive sins and He proved His power and right to forgive sins by healing a paralytic.  (Matthew 9:1-7; Luke 5:24)
* Forgiving sins must have the power of God behind that action.

Jesus had the authority to give His twelve disciple’s power over demonic spirits and to heal every kind of disease. (Matthew 10:1)
* It is one thing to say you have authority and quite another to give that authority to others.

After dying on the cross and after His resurrection from death, Jesus then proclaimed that His authority came from heaven.  (Matthew 28:18)
* Jesus, today, has “all authority”.  This all encompassing authority was given to Him over heaven and earth.

Jesus is able to keep anyone (that is you and me) from stumbling.  He is able to make us stand in the presence of His glory!  Without blame ~ with great joy!  (Jude 1:24)
(NASB) Jude 1:25 “to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.”

* It is the glory of Jesus, His majesty, His dominion, His authority.
All of this was before all time!  It is now!  And it will be forever!

When Jesus comes again, and He will, He will come as King over all nations.
* Jesus’ authority will be seen and experienced by all nations.

Jesus has authority over all things.
(NASB) Philippians 2:5-11 “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bondservant, and being made in the likeness of men.
8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Yes, Jesus has all authority!
