Red Letter Day

Attribute/Name of God ~ Judge

  God is the Lawgiver and He is the ultimate Judge…of people.
As the Lawgiver God has given us a code of laws and when we follow them, we have a good life, a life freed from rebellion against Him.

  God is also our Judgeit will be the LORD God who will form an opinion about you and me from the choices we have made in this life.  It is His critical determination and appraisal which will place us in heaven with Him or in hell…without Him.
My friend, your decisions and choices about the living God will go with you as you enter life after death, i.e. into eternity.

How does the Bible define God as the Judge?
(Amplified) Genesis 18:25 “…Shall not the Judge of all the earth execute judgment and do righteously?”

So God will execute judgment and it will be righteous judgment.  He is faithful; He will not administer injustice…to anyone.

(NIV) Deuteronomy 32:3-4 “I will proclaim the name of the LORD;
Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just;
A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”

(NIV) Isaiah 33:22 “For the LORD is our judge,
The LORD is our lawgiver,
The LORD is our king;
It is he who will save us.”

 (NASB) James 4:12 “There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy…”

God has the authoritative power to Judge and He will judge righteously.
(NASB) Revelation 20:11-12 “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.
12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.”

Each of us will stand before the Judge of all the earth.
