The innocence of a pure conscience is never ashamed.
(NASB) Genesis 2:24-25 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
24 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.”

Adam and Eve had a pure conscience before God and with each other.
Next week, this devotional will concentrate on the fall of Adam and Eve from their innocence.
At this point in Scriptures, Adam and Eve had nothing to hide, ‘sweep under a rug’ or hide away in a dark place.  They had the freedom of a clean conscience.

Today, you also can have the freedom of a clean conscience before God – forgiveness through God the Son is freedom indeed.  Remember: there are consequences to sin, even confessed sin, and that is a reality – but the emotional and mental freedom is a certainty when we confess our sins to the living God, for then we are forgiven through Christ.

What does Psalm 19:7-14 say about sin and God’s word?
1-    the Law of the LORD is – perfect
2-    the testimony of the LORD is – sure
3-    the precepts of the LORD are – right
4-    the commandment of the LORD is – pure
5-    the judgments of the LORD are – true

This list about God’s words of truth are desirable, more desirable than gold (even at more than $1600.00 an ounce!).
This list gives the LORD’S servants a warning.
In keeping God’s words at the forefront of our thinking – we will be greatly rewarded.

I cannot discern my errors…so I need to ask the LORD God to acquit me from my hidden faults.  (Many times my faults are easily seen by others but not by me.)
God can keep back His servant from willful sins – and I need to fully cooperate with Him and turn from those sins involving my selfish will.
I can ask God to not let those sins rule me, to control me.  Only through the Lord Jesus Christ will I be blameless – acquitted of great transgression.

Will the following verse be your heart’s cry to the LORD?
(NASB) Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.”
