Red Letter Day

Attribute of God ~ Faithful

Knowing something about God is only knowledge.  Knowing Who God is, something about God Himself, means so much more than sentimental knowledge.  To know God is to experience His attributes for ourselves in our day to day living.
With this in mind consider the following Scriptures for your understanding and growth in your relation to the God of the Bible.

Faithful: What are some of the ways the Holy Bible defines or explains this attribute of the Living God?

(NASB) Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindess to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and Keep His commandments.”
(Underlining added)

God is faithful.  Faithfulness is a part of Who He is.  What are the conditions you and I must adhere to?  We are to love Him and do what He says.  Love and action must work together.

(NASB) 1 Peter 4:19 “…those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.”

No matter how you are treated by others, you are to entrust your mind, your will, and your emotions to your faithful Creator and do what is right.
God is faithful.  He cannot be any other way.  He is not a man who is finite or limited.  He is God.

God has shown us how to live through obedience to His word…and He has also shown us how important we are to Him even until Jesus Christ comes again.
(NASB) 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.”

What a glorious thought!  God, Who calls you to faith in His Son, is faithful.  It is He who preserves your spirit and soul (mind, emotions and will) and your body in a complete package when the Lord Jesus Christ comes – it is a promise that will happen!

Great indeed is God’s unchanging faithfulness!

In awe, consider His faithfulness to you!
